Charlie Le Mindu AW10 Backstage
This was my first backstage experience and I wasn’t really sure what to expect upon being there. What I wasn’t expecting, however, was the calm sense of professionalism as everyone quietly went about their work. There was no shouting, no rushing and no shoving which is something I don’t associate with fashion week. I heard that week that the pace, pressure and general sense of urgency reflects directly upon the designer and their personality. Well you couldn’t mistake the serene air around Charlie as he added finishing touches to various pieces. A great place to be.

Beauty
I find it incredible that pockets of beauty can be right in front of you, waiting for just the right time to show itself. And how there are so many of them right on your doorstep. In everything we do or see there is a hidden, or subtle beauty that requires the right amount of attention and thought to manifest itself. I’m not just talking about photography but life. The way someone walks, or sounds when they speak, the pitch of the voice or laughter that cuts in to another sentence at just the right time. On certain mornings when the sun creeps through the bedroom window and my girlfriend raises from the bed slowly in her dreamy slumber with the light on her tired face, it’s stuff you can really put music to.
We have a disco ball hanging in our living room in front of the bay windows and at around 2pm on a sunny afternoon the room is lit with speckles of light, and as time passes they slowly dance to the same tune as their creator before passing into oblivion. And for that brief time the room seems to come alive.
LFW AW10/11
I was pleased to find out that I’m covering LFW for Vogue again this season, so it’s good to know that they were happy with my work last time. So here’s to more research and even more faces to memorise…
Extra extra!
This is a shot from one of my old shoots but I like it so much that I think it’s stands up beautifully on it’s own…
(Strangely enough it didn’t make the cut!)

Happy New Year
Happy new year to anyone who might be reading this. I’m starting off with a bang again which I’m pretty pleased about so there’s plenty of work for me coming up. Unfortunately that means that I can’t shoot as much as I want but there’s still plenty of stuff to keep this site occupied for a while…
Anyways…
